Your Money Is Material Support. Put It Where the Movement Needs It.
Freedom Action Now mobilizes allies to provide material support to grassroots organizations led by Black, Southeast Asian, and other women and queer people of color in Wisconsin. Donating is not charity. It is not guilt. It is what allies do.
Where your money goes.
FAN is not a foundation. We are not an institution that stockpiles resources for our own survival. We are an ally organization — and that means the money you give moves. It moves to Freedom Inc.'s Community Control Over Police campaign. It moves to rapid response when police kill a Black man in the street and the community needs legal support, bail funds, and organizing infrastructure. It moves to the grassroots organizations whose leadership we follow — not to build their capacity from above, but to provide the resources they've already said they need.
When you donate to FAN, you are not funding our brand. You are funding:
Why grassroots funding matters.
FAN prioritizes grassroots support over foundation dependency. Foundation money comes with strings — program areas, reporting requirements, the quiet pressure to moderate. Grassroots money comes with one string: do the work. The more of our budget that comes from people like you, the more political independence we have to follow the leadership of directly impacted communities without compromise.
Your donation is an organizing decision.
In a state where Black people are 5.2 times more likely than white people to be killed by police, where the city is trying to weaken oversight while officers are still shooting us, where Corey Ruiz was killed blocks from where Tony Robinson was killed in 2015 — donating is not separate from organizing. It IS organizing. It is the material support that makes every other form of support possible.
There is a lane for you.
If you are a cis-man, a white person, or a supporter from any background who shares our feminist abolitionist values — your money is not buying forgiveness. It is not performing goodness. It is doing what allies do: providing the resources that make the movement's work possible, under the leadership of those most impacted.
FAN is grounded in anti-capitalist radical queer Black and Southeast Asian feminism. We follow. We don't lead. We don't substitute. We don't speak for. We provide. Your donation is part of that provision.
Donating is one way to provide material support. Staying informed is another. Sign up for updates on our campaigns, actions, and the movements we follow.
